When she gave birth to him in 1973, his mother named him Dominik Frenchie Tiest. Eighteen years later, he was off to college, to study languages. Which ones? German and French of course. Another four years later, in 1991, he had his degree of applied linguistics and a teacher’s certificate. Thus far, everything went according to his parent’s plans. But then Dominik started exploring his artistic identity.
He completed the most diverse courses and classes: mime, improvisation, clowning, juggling, acrobatics, ventriloquism and dancing (tap dance, improvisation, ballroom dancing and break-dancing). He was trained by Marcel Marceau (F), attended master classes with Jeff Mc Bride (USA) and also passed the auditions for the "Mimenschule Ilg" (Switzerland) as well as for the "Formation artistique pour les Arts du Cirque" (B). Eventually, in 2000 he opted for a professional theatre degree at the "Ecole internationale de théâtre Lassaad" (B). His knowledge and skills resulted in Dominik Messiaen’s unparalleled style: an elegant dancer, an endearing clown, an amazing magician, eloquent and funny by nature. With his boyish looks, he can charm any audience and his versatility will surprise anyone, friend or foe. Recently he has asked for the assistance of specialists in entertainment and theatre.
